Nikki started this company in 2011 as a face painter/henna artist/balloon twister kind of by accident (one day she’ll write it all up in a lengthy blog for you to read) and it eventually turned into this massive balloon decor empire.

The short version about Nikki is: she’s just your run-of-the-mill type-A older sibling, with a pinch of ADHD, & a bit of anxiety thrown in for good measure. Don’t worry: these amazing qualities mean she’s a total pro at obsessing over microscopic details, juggling a million things at once (no biggie), and conveniently being prepared for an apocalypse at any event she’s handling.

But really: she loves making every event unique in its own way, designed for the client, space, budget, and person (or day) it’s about.

Nikki handles the website, social media, emails, consultations, designing, creating proposals, invoicing, inflating, installations, inventory, advertising, marketing, networking, and anything else you can think a business might need: that’s her.

When Nikki isn’t working 60 hours or momming: she enjoys drawing & painting, legos, board games, escape rooms, singing, visiting Detroit for Broadway shows, & laughing

Thomas surprised Nikki in 2015 when he picked up a 260 & quickly twisted a balloon dog. Nikki proclaimed: “you work for me now!” slapped a ring on his finger, and he has yet to escape. The balloon life chose Nikki, but it’s just dragging poor Thomas along for the ride.

You’ll usually see Thomas at the end of your event to handle your teardown. If the event is pretty large - he’s there for the installation with Nikki and/or Jess - but if your event is mostly classic decor you might see only Thomas because he loves classic arches & columns.

Thomas, an avid woodworker, is the robot's frame builder and also the brains behind the more complex balloon builds like our sculptures and structures. He’s also in charge of all of the grunt work like loading and unloading the van, storage, cleaning, and essentially any heavy lifting.

When Thomas isn’t working with Nikki, or being a dad he enjoys a weekly D&D game, LEGOs, doing escape rooms, watching nerdy shows, watching bluey with his daughters, watching brooklyn nine-nine & schitt’s creek with Nikki over and over again, reading fantasy books, and pursuing his own side hustle in voice acting.

His favorite balloon color is red and he really wishes there were more shades of red balloons.

Jess came on in 2014 as a face painter & henna artist. If you ask her to balloon twist: she’d say her specialty is a “jesus fish” (iykyk) She prefers to keep it to face painting & henna with Nikki at events.

Since the business shifted to hardcore decor: Jess really excelled in crafting vibrant color palettes without relying on trendy balloon double stuffing. During consultations, Nikki seeks Jess's input to create exciting and impactful color combinations based on her initial ideas.

Jess has a strong affinity towards organic decor, particularly custom organic installations. She consistently gravitates towards this style as opposed to classic decor, with a special fondness for custom organic installations specifically on staircases.

You’ll usually see Jess on larger installations with Nikki & Thomas, or on installations with mostly Nikki… because they are best buds who like to drive in the van and listen to true crime podcasts together.

In her free time you’ll find Jess tending to her plants, hoping she’ll eventually have a greener thumb, playing nerdy video & tabletop games, doing escape rooms with Nikki & Thomas, or being a cool aunt to the Bitties.

Secretly: she runs this entire show

She loves that she’s finally big enough to come along in the big van for installs and teardowns so you might see her once in a while on the job.

She loves to help around the studio putting balloons away, loading and unloading the van, and she LOVES to pop the balloons. (But only if she’s paid to)

Her orange cat Finnick is her favorite animal absolutely adores her, and patiently waits for her to return home from school every day in her bed - it’s quite adorable.

You don’t need to know more than that because you could try and kidnap her and that’s not cool. But she’s too smart for you anyway.

Her favorite balloon colors are Blossom & Lavender - which is why it’s the background of her headshot.

Bittiest Bot of Nikki & Thomas

Beware: if you see her on a job, she WILL ask you for a snack and you WILL want to comply because she IS adorable and says the funniest things that makes all of our clients laugh.

She loves to blow up balloons on her own. We’re pretty sure she’s going to be eager to learn to balloon twist.

You definitely don’t need to know more about her because you could also try to kidnap her… and she’d for sure get lured into a van for a puppy.

Her favorite balloon color is usually a pink but if the big sister isn’t around, she’d tell you it’s actually pink and purple
